Ngrenehan Beach is one of dozens of beach that stretches along the southern coast of Yogyakarta. Although the beach is not as famous as the other tourist beaches, such as Baron, Kukup, Krakal, or Sadeng. But, Ngrenehan beach serves a diverse menu is quite complete and interesting.     According to history, the name "Ngrenehan" is given by the King Demak, Raden Fatah, the son of King Brawijaya V. King Brawijaya V himself was king of Majapahit who ruled in 1464-1478 M. That said, once Raden Fatah came to the region is to look for his father, who fled with two of his wives (Dewi Lowati and Bondang Surati) as reluctant to embrace Islam. However, upon arrival in the region, Raden Fatah did not find them. Finally, he asked the officials of Demak kingdom to deliberations about how to find his parents. From this event the term "Pangrena" meaning solicitation. The word "Pangrena" comes from the word "reneh" meaning here. Then the people in the surrounding region turn into "Ngrenehan" which means come here. Reneh word given prefix "ng" and suffix "an" mean refers to a place, that is Ngrenehan Beach.

Physically, the Ngrenehan beach is not much different Baron Beach. Only, the beach is relatively narrower than Baron Beach. Ngrenehan Beach is a beach bay with an area of about 100 m2. The beach is flanked by two hills of rock jutting into the sea so that the waves of the Indian Ocean sea not directly crashed to the beach because it was blocked by the two cliffs. If you go to this beach do not forget to enjoy the beach view from the top of the hill to your left, the view is magnificent.
