Pamukkale In Turkish the name literally means "Cotton Castle". Pamukkale also one of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Pamukkale is famous for its historical heritage and natural beauty. In this place there are two main tourist locations namely hierapolis and travertines. There are two gates to enter pamukkale, form the bottom of near travertines and the top of near hierapolis.
Now we first tell you about travertines. Travertines has been established for more than two thousand years. Reputedly in Somewhere deep in the earth beneath Pamukkale and the ancient Roman city of Hierapolis lies a vast source of water heated by volcanic lava. The water dissolves pure white calcium, becomes saturated with it, and carries it to the earth's surface, where it bursts forth and runs down a steep hillside. Cooling in the open air, the calcium precipitates from the water, adheres to the soil, and forms white calcium "cascades" frozen in stone called travertines.
People still come in numbers to experience the curing effects of the water, which is said to help with high blood pressure, eye and skin diseases and circulation problems among many others. Yet for many it is simply the spectacle of the place which draws them to Pamukkale, the Cotton Castle.
For $ 25 Lira (12 euros) we can take a dip and enjoy the hot water, but we have to take off footwear because the Turky's government is maintaining the trevertine authenticity. Travertine's beauty makes this place is always crowded with visitors. The most appropriate time to visit there is in the spring (April-May), because when the temperature is not too hot and perfect for a walk.
